If the blog post "The impression of craft in new media" had not been assigned I certainly would not have stuck around long enough to read the entire post.
In my opinion an artist should make work that they connect with. I certainly agree that strong compositional and aesthetic elements should be present, but if other people don't understand the work that does not make the artist unsuccessful.

totally agree, art is worth what the intended audience believes it is worth. If its a piece just for the artist, then no ones opinion matters but their own.
